How to open the System properties box in Windows Vista

If you do not know where the system properties box is in Windows Vista, this article is for you. The system Properties box contains system settings that you can change and customize to your needs. For example you can change the computer name, device manager, remote desktop settings, and more. In fact if you are wondering how big your hard drive is or how much ram you have installed, you should visit the System Properties box.

3. When the control panel opens, double click on the system icon.
4. See the screenshot below. I pressed on Classic view so I could see all the icons.

5. The first part of the system properties box will open. Here you can see some details of your computer. For example it shows what processor and how much memory your computer has. See screenshot below.
6. Now press on the Advanced system settings link in the left sidebar. This will bring up the true system properties box like the one we used to see in Windows XP.

1. Now you can see the different tabs or categories in  the system properties box that you can go to. If you want to change your computer name then you must go to the Computer Name Tab.
