How to create a shortcut and put it on your desktop

You can create a shortcut to anything you like if you know how. You just need to know what file opens what program. Most programs that you have installed have an executable file to open them. They would look something like this: "NameOfProgram.exe". You can find a programs .exe file where it is installed, usually in program files. Also see how to Create a desktop shortcut to open Windows registry editor (regedit)

  1. First you must right click on your desktop and the menu will appear like the one below.
  2. Choose New then choose Shortcut.

  1. The box below appears. Here you can type the path to your shortcut or you can press browse and select it. I prefer to browse because it is easy to make a mistake when writing a path. Try selecting My Computer or My Documents, then press next.
