Thoroughly empathising with what I had read about transferring pictures from my digital camera, I planned to load the pictures of a recent weekend excursion. When I tried to transfer the pictures from the digital camera to the computer, I realised that the memory card had been wiped clean. My spouse informed me that he had mistakenly erased it all. It was a saddening revelation, for I felt it was impossible to recover the lost photos.
| Wondering if a solution was
possible, I scanned the web. Here, I read about the possibility of
recovering
deleted pictures using the DIY recovery software. Accumulating more
information, I came to know that the software was easy to use, but wrong
usage of it might damage the existing data. It would then, not be possible
even for data recovery experts to retrieve those lost pictures. I tried to take a chance for these were the pictures of a trip to a nearby location. In the worst case scenario, even if I lost the photos, I can re take them when we go there the next time. With this in mind I downloaded the demo version of the DIY software. Data Recovery Software - Data recovery software can be used to retrieve deleted pictures in majority of the cases. However, some digital cameras use a destructive deletion process which makes recovery a non possibility. |
As
plentiful digital cameras are available in the market, it is not possible to
identify the deletion characteristics of each model and make. I therefore
tried the trial demo version first.
The demo version was downloaded and when used, it successfully presented a
preview of the lost pictures. I then purchased the DIY photo recovery software
so that these pictures can be saved using the activation key.
Installing the software, I tried to make it directly interact with the camera.
It was not possible, for when I connected the camera to the computer, the
media card was not displayed as a drive letter. I therefore had to use the
digital camera card reader that was available in the computer shop. Using this
I successfully recovered and saved all the photographs.
The data recovery software has certain inherent shortcomings. Whether to use
it or not depends upon the value of your lost photos. I used the DIY software,
for though my missing snaps were precious, they could be easily retaken by
going to same location once again. I could never take chances if my wedding
photos, snaps of a family get together, or the memories of my child’s growing
years were at stake. Some pictures are simply too precious to risk
self-attempted recovery. At such times, data recovery service providers are
the safest option.

Data Recovery Service Providers The pictures we take must be immediately transferred to a CD. Even an external hard disk can be used. Creating a back up ensures peace of mind. |
Every
photograph is valuable and at times it becomes hard to discern whether to use
the DIY software or avail the services of the data recovery service providers.
Though, DIY software does not alter the contents of the memory card or the
hard drive, wrong usage of it definitely damages data. . Recovery work of
precious and valuable photos (that cannot be recaptured) should be entrusted
to data recovery professionals only. Photographs have the magical quality of
refreshing people even in the most exhausting circumstances.
