Hi Everyone! I have been trying to download Windows Defender from the Microsoft website but when I go to run it after the download has finished I get an error message saying....
" The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in Safe mode or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance".
Im not running in safe mode & how do you find out if the installer isnt working?
This problem only happens when downloading from the Microsoft website.
Can any help????

Go to add or remove programs in the control panel and remove windows defender. Try to download and install it again. It must be a simple error that is stopping it from working. Obviously you passed the genuine advantage stage...?

I went into add/remove programs & defender isn't there, I'm not sure where it went,lol. I downloaded it again but got the same message after trying to run it. Yes, I passed the genuine advantage stage.
