How
to sort your emails in the Mozilla Thunderbird inbox
If you have hundreds of emails in your inbox, like me you will at some
stage need to sort them just so you can get to the ones that you need to see.
Maybe you are waiting on an attachment and you do not want to look through 100
emails to find the one that came in. The best thing to do is to move all the
emails with attachments to the top so you only have to look through them for the
important email you are waiting on.
How to sort emails in Thunderbird
so the attachments are at the top:
- Open your Mozilla
Thunderbird program.
- Go to your inbox
which should be the first folder under the All folders heading
on the left.
- Click on inbox. See
the screenshot below.

- The emails in your inbox will appear in the right
column. See the screenshot below.
- Above the emails each column is labeled. If you press on
that label the emails will be sorted accordingly.
- If you press on the paper clip as shown in the screenshot
below, the emails with attachments will be placed at the top.
- If you press this again the emails with attachments will go
to the bottom.

You can press on Sender and the
emails will be grouped together will all emails from each sender together. If
you press on date, the latest emails that have just come in can be placed at the
top or bottom. Just press it again to move them.
You can also go to the menu at the
top of Thunderbird to see more options for sorting your emails.
- Go to the View menu
at the top of the page.
- Choose Sort by from
the menu.
- Then choose how you want to
sort your emails in your Thunderbird inbox.

As you can see there are a lot of choices when it comes to sorting your emails
in the Thunderbird email program.
